About Thinah Zungu
He was born and raised by Christian parents in a God fearing and God loving environment, all his life he knew that God is the centre of all things good in life, Thinah Zungu was born in 1988, in KwaZulu Natal in Inland, being the last born with two elder brothers he grew up protected by family and has strong family values, he attended his primary school years at Othando Primary School and did his Secondary education at Sthabile High School.
Thinah finished his matric in 2006 and started to focus on his music career, Enkazimulweni was his debut album which he released and promoted in 2007 and worked with Phulani Hadebe. It was not easy but it was worth all the sweat that he put in to it, the response he received from people when he performed was a confirmation that this young man was in the right space spiritually.
Thinah touched and blessed souls with his voice and songs, the reaction gave him strength and faith to record and release a second album in 2009 titled Kuthe bekwazi. He travelled all around the country preaching the gospel through worship, the song Kuthe bekwazi almost became an anthem in churches around Durban. Joe Gcabashe of Summertime Music Productions believed in Thinah’s gift of singing gospel music and took him under his wing.
When asked who inspires him, he says “a lot of artists but one that stands out is Sfiso Ncwane” Thinah mentions that some of the songs in the album were produced and composed by Sfiso Ncwane.
In 2011 the album titled Kwanqab’umusa was released. It did very well and warmly and cheerfully welcomed by the public, Kwanqab’umusa Album won him Best Gospel Song with an album titled song Kwanqab’umusa and Best Songwriter at the SABC Crown Gospel Awards 2012, the album sold over 25000 copies.
In 2013 Thinah released yet another album titled Nginguthandiwe under his company, Thina Music Productions, nginguthandiwe is a 11 tracks album filled with worship and messages of hope and gratitude to God, in this album he worked with Sipho Makhabane, Bongani Mchunu and his big friend, Dumi Mkokstad. www.thinahmusi.co.za
